INFO : Bal Vikas will reopen on Sunday Jan. 10th, 2010

Welcome to Balvikas Online

At the Sai Mandir, USA, we teach and train children in principles that foster children's ethical, social, and cultural development based on our Hindu Tradition. . . While nurturing children's capacity to think skillfully and critically, we also strive to deepen children's commitment to human values such as kindness, helpfulness, personal responsibility, and respect for others - qualities we believe are essential to leading humane and productive lives.."

We do this through Chanting of Slokas, Singing bhajans, doing Meditation, through Talks, teaching of our scriptures like Ramayana, Mahabharatha, Bhagwat Puran, etc.; we accomplish this through teaching children traditional dances, staging plays etc. We also encourage children to speak in public thereby develop their self confidence.

We have a combined session in the beginning of the class (combined for parents, students and teachers). In this class we teach good parenting, slokas, bhajans and meditation.

After this session the students go to their respective classes. This is where the children are taught stories from various Indian scriptures like Ramayana, Mahabharata etc. These stories are taught so that the children will have a clear idea of how and why we should practice moral values in the story.

We also provide opportunity for the children to have fun together while reinforcing the values

The various names and associated forms of God Ganesha are enumerated and need to be meditated upon here - the one with an auspicious face, the single tusked Lord, the one who is of red color, the one with the ears of an elephant, the one with a big stomach, the one with a jovial disposition, the controller of obstacles, the Lord of the Ganas.
