Hindi Class

Knowing the local language is the best way to understand and fully enjoy the culture of a place. Hindi is common binding thread among the varied parts of India even though they have their own regional language. The Hindi class at the Sai Mandir is an attempt to spread the national language of India among the kids here. This hopefully will help them to relate themselves with their Indian background in a more forceful way. The Hindi class follows the objectives of the Bal Vikas program.

The Hindi class at the Sai Mandir is divided into two groups based on age.

Group I comprises of students in the age group five to nine years. The focus of this group is more on Conversational Hindi. Each class begins with a small prayer in Hindi. This not only emphasizes the importance of prayer but also helps improve the pronunciation (since a few sounds in the Hindi language are not very commonly used in the English language). The Hindi sessions will help them understand the language at a very basic level of everyday use for example fruits, vegetables, colors, introducing oneself, engaging in conversation with a new person, etc.

There are around 25 kids in this group.

Group II comprises of students 10 years & up. This is a bit more advanced class where in addition to the basic conversation they also learn written skills. Individual alphabets, joining alphabets to make words, joining words to make sentences, grammar, etc. will help them get a deeper grasp of the language. There are around 15 kids in this group.

With God’s grace & a lot of effort put in by the students these classes have already started seeing results. This is seen not only by the teachers but also by the parents whose constant positive feedback is a good inspiration for the students as well.
